Renaissance

I LOVE Renaissance Faires. I started going to the Sterling Renaissance Faire outside Rochester, NY when I was in high school. Now that I live outside Chicago, we've been going to the Bristol Renaissance Faire for quite a few years now. We have been dressing in costume for quite a while.

After having heard a little about the Society of Creative Anachronism (SCA) for several years, I attended a costuming symposium in the fall of 2006. My husband went with me and watched a fighter practice. He came home and found our local rapier group, and a new family obsession was born. My husband (known as Gerard Montague in the society) and myself (known as Philippa Montague) are members of the Thieves of Hearts rapier group, and also consider ourselves inhabitants of the Shire of Ravenslake, in the Middle Kingdom.

Below you'll see a number custom costumes I have made for others or for my own family, which could give you an idea of the type of costume I could make for you, and hopefully spark your interest.
